Dancing with Joy

Joy arises:

Such a subtle beauty,

Like the girl with wide, beautiful eyes who sits in the corner,

Quietly, humbly, radiantly.

Joy knows not of selfish pleasures or conquests,

She knows only of appreciative love.

Her love is as deep as the deepest ocean,

Yet, as stilling as dawn’s early morning whisper.

So simple joy is,

So pervasive,

Yet so elusive.

When you let her in,

Suddenly the should-be’s,

And could-be’s,

Disappear.

Oh, Joy: so pervasive,

Yet so elusive.

If only I could find her,

Tonight.
